This year, all Catholic schools in the diocese of Sandhurst celebrated Catholic Education Week 2024 from Monday 10 March to Friday 17 March. The theme for Catholic Education 2024 is “In the Light of Christ”.
Belonging to a Catholic school community is unique in that we are bound by rich traditions and values that draw from the Mission of the Catholic Church. The parish is central to our Catholic Identity and is what binds the Christian faith with our staff and students.
At Notre Dame College we are incredibly blessed to have amazing parish priests that are present and active in the college community. Fr. Joe Taylor and Fr. Jackson, who are very much the ‘good shepherds’ of our students and staff - voices that our school community ‘recognise’ and know.
A recent example of this was Fr. Jackson commentating our annual staff versus students soccer game Project Compassion Cup held in the Mercy Stadium in Term 1 for our major Catholic charity, Caritas Project Compassion.
Loving God,
when we celebrate Catholic schools in the diocese of Sandhurst,
we thank you for the teachers, students, families and administrators
who together create school communities of faith, hope and love.
We ask you to bless our schools
as they continue the mission of Catholic education.
May they always be places where young people
are formed and inspired by the light of Christ
and share the joy of the Gospel with all the world.
We ask this prayer through your son and our Teacher, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Notre Dame College celebrates the work and relationships of staff, students, families, clergy and all those who have a stake in our great College.
